Small Town Hope Inc.
A Nurse Led Rural Non-Profit 501(c)(3) Organization
Before you sign up for this FREE experience...
Here is some information about the project and what you can expect:

-
Each child may attend one session & must be registered. (The project is intended for ages 7 and up due to the use of tools and art processes geared towards this age group). The number of participants per session is limited to allow our teachers to provide the one-on-one help that is needed to allow each young artist to shine.

-
Your child's 2-hour session will take place at The Treehouse (276 Number Nine Road, Hastings, PA 16646). Drop- off is at 9:00AM and pick-up is at 11:00AM.

-
While with our kind, experienced and credentialed teachers, your child will learn about the design process through some unique activities (we even take old hoodies apart to see how they're made!), brainstorm cool hoodie designs, learn art techniques, and create their favorite design on an actual hoodie they can wear! The art experience is fully hands-on with total creative freedom!! An array of tools and art supplies are provided so the kids can make any design a reality!

-
All participants' hoodies will be displayed at a finale Hoodie Fashion Show at The Treehouse on Friday, August 9, 2024 4-6pm. We ask all of the young artists to attend so they can receive positive feedback about their art from the community. This is an important part of the project because it helps to grow confidence in our creative youth, as they so deserve. As children complete their hoodies, we will keep them at The Treehouse for the show and then return them to the kids when the show is over.

-
Because health is also an important component of the Creative Health Impact Grant, children who attend will learn about the importance of staying active to keep their bodies healthy. They will receive "Keep Active" items to take home!

-
Photos will be taken to document this super cool event and to show the folks at PRAA and 1889 Foundation the joy they have brought to our community through this project! These photos may be shared on Small Town Hope's Facebook page, website, and for grant reporting purposes. If you do not want your child to be included in photographs, please let us know.
